Warhammer Survivors Launches November 10, New Characters Revealed

Auroch Digital has officially announced that its upcoming title, Warhammer Survivors, is scheduled to launch on the PlayStation 5 on November 10. The announcement, shared by game designer Ellie Harrodine, was accompanied by a new trailer that highlights two of the game's playable champions. This release will allow players to dive into battles spanning both the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar universes, featuring a massive roster of more than 40 playable characters at launch.

Among the newly detailed characters is Morvenn Vahl, a prominent figure from the Warhammer 40,000 universe who was previously teased in the game's key art. Vahl, the supreme commander of the Adepta Sororitas and the High Abbess Sanctorum, is depicted in the game's pixel art style. Known for her iron will and preference for leading crusades from the front lines, Vahl enters the battlefield piloting her ornate Paragon Warsuit to combat hordes of Orks, Tyranids, and Death Guard Plague Marines.

In terms of gameplay, Vahl is one of the larger characters in Warhammer Survivors. Her primary armament is the Heavy Bolter Fidelis, which fires a wide arc of projectiles to clear out enemies. This weapon features a unique mechanic where it can trigger a miracle, granting Vahl a temporary blessing that boosts her rate of fire. Players can eventually evolve this weapon into the Purgator Mirabilis, which adds a Paragon Missile Launcher to her arsenal, letting her rain down sporadic explosions alongside her standard bolter fire.

Representing the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe is Lyssa Revenya, a skilled thief and tomb-robber from the city of Lethis. Lyssa is a key member of the Saviours of Cinderfall, a group of heroes known for defending the streets of Hammerhal. Her background in navigating dangerous, trap-laden crypts has provided her with a specialized set of skills that she adapts for combat against hordes of Skaven in the game.

Lyssa's combat style relies on agility and keeping her distance from foes. Her signature weapon is the Rope and Grapnel, which fires hooks from random edges of the screen toward specific points on the battlefield. This attack damages enemies and drags survivors across the arena. When players evolve this weapon, Lyssa summons the spirit of her late mentor, Rhea. This banshee flies across the screen and explodes into a cloud of damaging ghostly fog, allowing players to strategically pull enemies into the hazard using the grapnel.

With the release date set for November 10, Auroch Digital has opened pre-orders and wishlisting for Warhammer Survivors on the PlayStation 5 starting today. To incentivize early purchases, PlayStation Plus members are being offered a 10% discount on their pre-orders of the game.
