(For Southeast Asia) First Look At The Grand Theft Auto VI Limited-Edition DualSense Wireless Controllers
Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers for the PlayStation 5, themed around Grand Theft Auto VI. Designed to reflect the aesthetic of Vice City, the controllers will be released in black and white variants alongside the game on November 19, with pre-orders beginning on September 10 for players in Southeast Asia.
During a recent State of Play presentation, Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled a pair of limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers designed in collaboration with Rockstar Games. These peripherals are themed around the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, specifically drawing inspiration from the vibrant aesthetic of Vice City. The controllers will be available in two distinct color schemes, designated as the Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and the Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition.
According to Isabelle Tomatis, the Vice President of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, the design of these controllers aims to capture the unique atmosphere of the game's setting, ranging from its sun-drenched coastal areas to its neon-lit nightscapes. Both the black and white models feature a specialized color-shifting finish that transitions between the warm tones of a sunset and the bright glow of neon signs. Additionally, the controllers incorporate custom palm tree patterns molded directly into the grips, offering a distinct physical texture alongside the official game branding.
The two versions are intended to represent different times of day within the virtual metropolis. The white variant is styled to evoke the early morning hours of Vice City, utilizing a palette reminiscent of pale sandy beaches and soft pastel skies. Conversely, the black version is designed to reflect the energetic nightlife of the city. Both models are engineered to leverage the standard features of the PlayStation 5 controller, utilizing haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to translate the in-game actions of protagonists Jason and Lucia into physical sensations.
In the Southeast Asian market, these limited-edition controllers will be distributed in restricted quantities through authorized retail partners. Sony has established regional pricing for the accessories across several countries. The recommended retail prices are set at SGD 115 in Singapore, MYR 419 in Malaysia, IDR 1,549,000 in Indonesia, THB 2,890 in Thailand, PHP 5,411 in the Philippines, and VND 2,399,000 in Vietnam. The manufacturer noted that the precise release dates and local availability could fluctuate depending on the specific country or territory.
Pre-orders for both controller designs are scheduled to open on September 10, starting at 10:00 AM local time in participating regions. This gives eager consumers a chance to secure their hardware well ahead of the official launch. The rollout of these accessories is timed to coincide directly with the debut of the game itself, allowing players to acquire the themed hardware alongside their copy of the software.
The launch of these limited-edition peripherals is set for November 19, the same day Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to release on the PlayStation 5. Sony's marketing highlights that the game has been optimized to take full advantage of the console's hardware capabilities, positioning the custom DualSense controllers as the ideal way to experience the upcoming title.
