The Street Fighter 2 Bonus Stage Car Is Real And You Can Win It

A real-life version of the iconic Lexus LS 400 from the Street Fighter II bonus stage has been built by Vehicle Effects in a joint effort between Capcom and The General. Fans can enter a sweepstakes to win the custom vehicle and over $25,000 in gas money.

One of the most memorable moments in fighting game history is being brought into the physical world. Capcom has partnered with The General Insurance and the custom car fabrication company Vehicle Effects to construct a real-life replica of the famous Lexus LS 400 from the Street Fighter II bonus stage. In the original game, players were tasked with completely demolishing the vehicle within a strict time limit, a mechanic that has become a staple of the franchise and a beloved piece of gaming culture.

The physical recreation of the pixelated sedan is the grand prize of a newly announced sweepstakes. Fans can submit their entries starting in October, with the giveaway running until November 18. In addition to taking home the custom-built vehicle, the lucky winner will also receive a cash prize of $25,400.69, which is intended to cover the costs of gasoline. Despite the car's destructive legacy in the virtual world, the creators strongly advise the winner against actually trying to beat it to pieces.

Vehicle Effects, the Los Angeles-based shop responsible for bringing the digital car to life, has a long history of creating specialized vehicles for major television and film productions. For this project, they have decorated the Lexus with a unique pixelated paint job that mimics its classic 16-bit appearance. The interior has also been heavily customized, featuring an upgraded sound system and the words "you" and "win" stitched into the headrests on both sides of the cabin. In a playful nod to arcade cabinets, the vehicle's heated seats are activated by inserting a physical coin.

The choice of the Lexus LS 400 is fitting, as the model is highly regarded by automotive enthusiasts. Known for its extreme durability, the vehicle features a robust 4.0-liter V8 engine that has earned a reputation as a "million-mile engine." This legendary reliability is even reflected in the original Street Fighter II bonus stage, where the engine block is famously the only component left intact after players finish smashing the rest of the car's bodywork.

This promotional campaign arrives alongside the highly anticipated release of the new live-action Street Fighter film, which is scheduled to debut in theaters on October 16, 2026. The movie itself pays direct homage to the classic bonus stage. Promotional trailers have already revealed a scene where Ken Masters, portrayed by actor Noah Centineo, destroys a car with his bare hands and feet in front of an enthusiastic crowd of onlookers.

The upcoming cinematic adaptation is generating significant buzz with other newly revealed details. It was recently announced that the film will incorporate stylized animated sequences to explore the history of Ryu and Ken, focusing on their training under their master, Gouken, as well as their relationship with Akuma. Additionally, actor David Dastmachian, who plays the villainous M. Bison, shared that he prepared for his role by researching the behavior of real-world cult leaders to bring a grounded sense of menace to the character.
