'empathetic Prototypes' Quest Walkthrough In Arc Raiders

Following the release of the Frozen Trail update for Arc Raiders, players have reported significant difficulty when trying to finish the Empathetic Prototypes mission. Assigned on behalf of the character Lance, the contract requires players to retrieve companion android items during a single drop on the Spaceport map. Completing the entire assignment requires players to execute four distinct steps out of five total potential objectives, as one specific phase provides a choice between two distinct paths.

The first objective sends players directly to the Trench Towers area situated inside the Spaceport Trench. This location resides along the northern side of the regional map, positioning itself beneath the East Hangar and West Hangar while sitting directly above The Trench. To successfully complete the task, players must concentrate their search efforts on the structures identified as the North Trench Tower and the South Trench Tower.

Players possess two separate options for bypassing the security seal holding the target cargo container shut. The first method relies on having a Spaceport Trench Tower key inside the player's personal inventory stash. If this key is available, the player can place it into a safe pocket before deploying to the surface. Upon reaching the location, using the key to gain entry into the South Trench Tower reveals an interior terminal that immediately overrides the magnetic lock when activated.

For those without the proper key, an alternative approach requires equipping a grappling hook and a zipline before launching the mission. Players using this strategy must find the cargo container suspended directly beneath the North Trench Tower. By locating a ladder positioned to the right of the hanging container, players can climb out of the trench, attach a zipline to the top surface of the crate, and ride it across to land directly on top of the hanging structure.

Navigating onto the crate involves substantial physical risk, making the grappling hook essential for catching oneself if momentum carries the player past the far edge. Once safely atop the container, interacting with a mechanism located near the hinge initiates a manual magnetic override. This action releases the container, causing it to fall straight down into the trench floor below.

After the crate drops, players can use their grappling hook to safely climb down to the bottom of the trench. Searching the fallen container yields the Project Pathos Empathy Core, which players should place inside their safe pocket to ensure it survives the journey back. Once extracted successfully from the map, delivering the recovered item to Lance completes the quest, rewarding the player with 5,000 XP, two stim shots, and a Canto SMG.
